PHILOSOPHY

PETRI WINERY

Winery. Family. Life.

We are Philipp und Maximilian Petri, two brothers who grew up in a winery where every generation had the freedom to follow their own path and development was based on trust, not pressure. In this way the family business changed over the years without losing its deeply-rooted values.

Philipp works in the vineyard and the cellar, where calmness and precision are important and Maximilian works where the wine meets people – through dialogue, exchanges and that typical pfälzisch openness.

However, what unites us is a sense of family rooted in respect, serenity and curiosity. We continue to run the winery, creating room for one another and forging our own path, step by step.

OUR WINERY IS WHERE PRECISION MEETS PFÄLZISCH TRANQUILITY – A UNION OF CALMNESS AND FLEXIBILITY.

HOW WE WORK

HOW WE WORK

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Our philosophy is based on experience. We have been watching over our vineyards and vines for generations and have learnt that decisions and developments need time – and that nature can do more than we think if we don't stand in its way.

We work carefully because we know how sensitively our soils react. Innovative vision, knowing when to act and when not, is rewarded with wines of clarity and character. We make decisions consciously and never based on routines or whims.

IN THE END, IT'S ABOUT LEARNING SOMETHING NEW EACH YEAR - ABOUT NATURE, ABOUT OURSELVES,

ABOUT WHAT IS ACHIEVABLE.

This way of thinking not only determines our wines, but also how we work in the winery every day.

WHAT DEFINES US AND OUR WORK

We allow our wines to mature slowly and undisturbed, for depth cannot be achieved by accelerating the process. Time gives structure. Time brings balance. Time is the ultimate test of our work and it prevents us from trying to force things.

Remaining down-to-earth ensures we never lose touch with the people who enjoy our wines. We come from a region where hospitality is second nature - and where quality is defined by excellence, not by status. Serious without being pretentious, ambitious, yet always focused on the essentials.
